The Capital Development Authority (CDA) says it has recovered 1,133 kanals of state land in Islamabad's Sector E-12, land that it says had been illegally occupied for nearly four decades.
The figure comes from a CDA statement issued on 19 October 2026 and carried by the state news agency, the Associated Press of Pakistan. The authority describes the land as worth billions of rupees, and the statement gives no exact value.
How the recovery was carried out
According to the statement, the land was taken back on the directions of Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi, under CDA Chairman Sohail Ashraf. The operation was supported by the Islamabad administration and Islamabad police.
What the CDA says happens next
The CDA says development work in E-12 has sped up since the recovery, and that its infrastructure work is being pushed to finish the sector within the set timeframe. The chairman has told the departments concerned to complete the work on schedule and to approved standards. An earlier CDA notice, dated 2 October, said this work includes roads and municipal infrastructure.
Neither statement gives a completion date.
Before you buy in any sector
This report does not change the status of any individual plot. If you are considering property in E-12 or elsewhere in Islamabad, check the plot's status with the CDA directly before paying anything, and do not rely on a seller's word or a copy of a document.
